Reinstall - what order?

I've just done a clean reinstall of XP Pro and have 2 problems

Firstly setting up my partner's user profile - when I try to set a password XP warns that all encrypted files & passwords will be lost ... Should I worry about this

Secondly, I imported from the Files & Settings Transfer wizard, which created a third folder under Documents & Settings for user <my partner's profile name>.Workgroup. In other words, it seems to have created settings for another profile, which doesn't exist

Did I do things in the wrong order? Can anyone recommend the best order for restoring profiles/settings after a clean install? Thanks!
