reinstall operating system

when i try to reinstall my operating system my computer tells me it cant find
any hard drives! wierd considering it has 2. i am currently using xp media
edition but would like a clean resinstallion.

can anyone help?

Most likely you have SATA drives and need to press the F6 key early in
the setup process and supply "Mass Storage Device" drivers for your
drive controller. You MUST supply the drivers on a floppy diskette and
you must press F6 when you are prompted at the beginning of the setup
routine. Being that MCE is an OEM product only I find it strange that
the drivers would not be properly incorporated (slipstreamed) on the
installation cd, did you check with your computer supplier for help with
this? The drivers would be supplied with your motherboard or with the
drive controller, if they're on a cd you will have to copy them to a
floppy diskette.
