reinstall on new machine

Hi,
If I understand correctly, if I purchase a retail version of Vista Ultimate
I can move it to a new machine 1 time.

But I have also read that I can only activate either the 32-bit or 64-bit
version if I purchase a retail copy that has both in it.

I would like to install it on my 32-bit laptop this year and build a new
64-bit machine next year when I can afford it better.

I would be selling the old 32-bit laptop and reimaging it with the factory
OS at that time so.........could I reuse my previously installed Vista OS on
the new machine, or would I have to stick with a 32-bit machine because that
was the version that was originally activated?

No, you can install the 64 bit version. Basically, you can't have BOTH
installed at the same time. Only one at a time. So, you can use the 64 bit
on the new machine and delete the old installation from the old machine with
no issues.

What you propose should present no problem.

Since it is a retail version you can install *either*
version on your computer at any time as long as only one
version is installed at a time. Also, being 'retail', there
is no limit as to how many times you can reinstall it. The
telephone thingy will likely be required after the 64 bit
install as the 32 bit version has already utilized the
activation code.
