Hello,

I have downloaded iesetup.exe to re-install internet
explorer. I have edited the registry so it can
reinstall.. The setup fails the installation every time.
I simply cann't re-install IE.

Any suggestions??

Thank You,

The details of any error message that you receive would be helpful.

There was no error message..Only that it said it may not
be windows compatible.

Get a recent ISP disc from a magazine or somewhere. Don't allow it to
autostart but explore it and look for IE6 setup. Install from there over
the top of existing installation. No need to edit registry.

I had this problem - took me a day to sort it out. In the
end, I tracked it to a 'cryptographic' error (don't even
ask what that means). The advice at this link was very
helpful - after I followed all of it (including the
section about installing patches) I was able to install
XP SP1 and thus IE 6;
