Other things to try
============
1. Rename the %WinDir%\System32\Catroot2 folder either by using the Windows
user interface or at a command prompt.
2. Boot the machine with a Windows 98 startup disk and copy the I386
folder from the Windows 2000 installation CD to the hard disk. Then run the
Winnt.exe in the I386 folder to install Windows 2000.

3. 243068 Cannot Run Windows 2000 GUI-Mode Setup in Safe Mode

4. Enable CDFS Service:
a. Boot from the Windows 2000 CD ROM
b. Hit R to repair
c. Hit C for Recovery Console
d. Select the broken installation of Windows 2000
e. Type the Administrator password
f. Type in "listsvc" to make sure cdfs is not set to SERVICE_AUTO_START (if
it is already set that way, then this SOX is not for you!)
g. Type in "enable cdfs service_auto_start"
h. Look for any other CD-related services that may be disabled (for example
cd20xrnt, etc)
i. Type Exit to reboot and get back into setup. You should get to
"Installing Devices" and continue on with setup.

Had some issues with windows 2000, started to do some strange things.
Knowledge base said use instillation cd to repair. When i do this it goes so
far and crashes saying " setup failed to install the product catalogs. This
is a fatal error." and "Setup encountered the following unhandled exception.

0000000100171000". The computer then reboots and tries again.
How do i fix so i can use all my programs, internet etc?
Did manage to install xp but it will not see this 2000 setup to install
over, so i now have a dual operating system. How do i delete xp?
