Windows XP Registry

Hi,

I am trying to add a back up of the registry that I made but get the fowling error

(Not all data was successfully written to the registry. Some keys are open by the systems and other processes.


I would be grateful if you could please advise me on this problem.

I am looking to buy registry mechanic 6.0 by PC tools has any body used it before if so is it any good.

do you have a backup of your registry ? and what have you done exactly ?

I've not used it before, but I would think that the majority of registry tools aren't worth much. You could try making a backup of the registry in safe mode if some keys are currently in use.

Did you use the default Windows reg backup tool?

edit: Sorry, I think I misunderstood now that I have re-read the question. Did you make a backup using this method and now you want to restore it? It may be easier to use the Windows System Restore tool to roll back to a previous instance
