Can anyone here copy and past this registry key here for all to read /

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup

On the Edit DWORD Value window, click to select Hexadecimal on the Base pane

This is the problem but if yours is posted here it will remove the doubt...

Hi,

Sounds more like a permissions problem, right click the key and check
properties to see if your user account has write privileges.

LogLevel is the Value Name that you want, not Base.

Base refers to the number system, i.e. Hexadecimal or Decimal.

Open the Registry Editor...
Start | Run | Type: regedit | Click OK |

Navigate to >>>
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup

Double click LogLevel in the right hand pane.

In the Edit DWORD Value window make sure that Hexadecimal is selected.

Then type: 0000FFFF in the Value data box.

Click OK.

20000000 is the default Value data.

FYI, 0000FFFF is a Hexadecimal number equivalent to 65535 in Decimal.

You answer worked perfect. Can you get your answer to replace the MS KB

Thank you for your time.
