registry file location

I need to edit a line or two in my registry. Problem is i can't remember where the registry file and directory is located, i need to be pointed to the right folder or directory. i thought it was under documents and settings.
The problem i am having is i uninstalled roxio 5 and now my cd rom drives are not being recognized. I read on the roxio web site they had a fix for it but some reason it did not change anything. The next step they instructed was to manually change upper and lower values in the registry. Any help would be appreaciated.
