In all honesty, if you find the user-interface of the registry editor
annoying, then can I suggest that you probably should not be touching
the registry editor. it's for experts.

Hi Joe,

Contract all branches before closing. It will open in whatever state you
left it in.

This can be annoying, but the default behavior is to open regedit at the
location selected when it was last closed. A quick solution that I found is
to press and hold the left arrow key which collapses the folder tree
completely in a second.

Tried that and it works OK.

Now how do I get it to remember to open in full page again???

To revert the changes, assign write permissions for yourself (for the same
registry key)

You may want to take ownership of that registry key if you want to revert
the changes.
