Registry Corrupt? Stuck on thumbnail view

I have tried countless times including having my setting in folder
properties to classic view and to show list or details. No matter what
the settings are and I always change to "like current folder" my view is
always to thumbnail.

Any ideas how to fix and maybe force the registry to accept permanently?

Thanks, I didnt find folder views-keep settings...but what did work was
enabling "remember each folder's view settings". I think somehting may
have gotten corrupted when I ran a registry cleaner recently.
