She phrased it that way, knowing I am an alleged Chrysler bigot and
she has refused to clarify her comments, which confirm my
suspicion. And, the MVPs /are/ biased whether you personally want
to believe that or not and whether you like it or not; just read
what they say, how they say it, what they recommend, and the
stratight-down-the-company-line they always take.

Now you are talking BS )-

Everyone gets the same smiley...
So when someone asks you a silly or obvious question and then
winks or grins, you would take it as an insult? If so, you
need a sense of humor transplant. Kelly's question seemed to
me to be a winky silly obvious question.
I read almost everything from Kelly and Wesley and Malke too.
And I don't see straight-down-the-company lines from any of
them but I guess I don't really know what your meaning of
straight-down-the-company lines is. I see several non MVPs who
do seem to march straight-down-the-company line, however.

Quite a number of people don't like Chrysler for any of dozens of
good, bad, or indifferent reasons. Likewise, quite a number of
people dislike people who're obviously employees that they think
are apologists of one sort or another. And, people don't like me
because I am a) anti-MS, b) anti-MVP, and c) someone who tells
factual stories about Chrysler, some of which people don't
believe or don't like.

I was not insulted, I was annoyed because Kelly made such an
obviously transparent "pass" at both me and the company. And,
little smiley faces, the standard ;=) kind or Kelly's variant,
are oft used to make the appearance of joking when in fact it is
serious, in fact, intentionally obtuse and smart-ass but with the
smiley face to point to if somebody objects, which I did.

Now, since none of this is any of your business beyond the usual
"this is Usenet and everything you say is my business" horseshit,
unless/until Kelly responds, I stand by my opinion. And, of the
two people so far offering their version of spin on both Kelly
and me, no refutation of anything I said has been made beyond
defense of someone who is, at this point, indefensible.

If that isn't enough for you and others lurking, that's tough.

I did, in my reply to the OP and a reply to another responder

Well, we already know it will /not/ be Vista, at least not until
2008 at the earliest after all the early adopters beta test it in a
production work environment on their Visa cards and MS fixes what
they call up and complain about. And, it is still doubtful in my
mind that Bill the Gates can deliver even this time next year.
Soon, it will be Steve Ballmer in full control and not Bill Gates.

Gates.

Yes, that is true, but Bill the Gates will still be pulling the
strings until he is literally dead and buried, no matter what he
said during his day long bloviating speeches and press interviews,
you can take that to the bank. And, all if will take to have him
re-assert full control of the company is to have Ballmer fall on
his ass even a little.

I think Steve Ballmer is everything a stockholder in MS could ask
for in a CEO , which I was until Friday when I sold my shares.

Since becoming CEO, he has more than doubled MS revenues and more
than doubled profits, yet the price of the stock has stagnated and
has been generally below the price when he took the reins. There
are lots of reasons for that, that I do not need to elucidate here,
save one: if you have listened to Ballmer at all, it is clear that
he neither understands the technical side of the company he is
managing, nor does he have any clear idea of the goals and
objectives of Microsoft. And, he is far, far from the visionary and
strategic thinker of Bill the Gates. Add to that his low-key style
and no appetite to be the fierce competitor and marketing genious
that Gates is, all add up to me that Bill will quickly tire of
giving $20B away and want to get his hands dirty again.

In fact I believe that Kelly may be too much of a lady to go down to your
level and reply. I trust she is.
Another who posts here, I fear would not have.
For a couple of years now I have been trying to work out what is the
definition of a 'newsgroup troll' :)
The description has been bandied about in so many different situations.
I know this thread has gone way off topic, but then the topic has been
discussed so often.
Putting the thread even further off topic, regarding the definition - have I
found the answer or do I keep looking :)

Dan
The name sounds familiar - was he the prat I saw in a video clip a few weeks
ago, who threw himself all over the stage, ranting and raving at some MS
announcement bash - must have been his idea of amateur dramatics - and he's
the CEO of MS :)
No wonder they are in a mess!

Kelly is exactly what I said she is, a smart-ass who wants to try
to make sport of my handle and my company affiliation. If she
choosess not to reply, than she - and you - have no standing in the
debate.

For the definition of a "troll", please consult the TOS for your
NSP. Being a contrarian or one who speaks truth is not the
definition of a troll. And, antioch, you did not expand my picture
library of Chrysler cars because I neither saved the pictures of
your 180 not the web link. In my view, /you/ are the troll and will
not suffer the correct penalty - PLONK!

Wow! That 2 by 4 chip on your shoulder must get really heavy. Who gives a
crap what anyone thinks of Chrysler or any other car company? YOu must
really have been beat up on real bad because of Chrysler to be that
defensive. Does Chrysler pay you to be the "straight down the company line
guy"or are you a major stockholder?
Do you see that what you are accusing MVPs of doing for MS is what you do
for Chrysler? And if you are so anti MS and anti MVP what the f * ck are you
doing here?

Hi Keyboarder
My sentiments as well.
Not bad for one thread in which I have been insulted(water off a ducks back
to me), called a troll(which puts me in the illustrious company of
leythos/kurttrail and alias and a couple of others - hope they don't mind
and allow me in the club), got 'plonked'(is that supposed to hurt me -ouch -
mind you he is in my kill file after that last effort) and have had help
thrown back in my face out of pure spite.
Now that does pizz me off - I wish I had not bothered - I help add a few
Chrysler pics to his library to 200 and that's the thanks you get.
Oh well - tomorrow is another day.
Apologies to Mistral for hijacking his thread.

Hey Antioch
What is really funny is most folks aren't real thrilled with MS, including
me. I have even sensed a few MVPs being irritated with WGA. But whining
about a smiley is really babyish. Chryslerman doesn't have anywhere near the
style Kurttrail has when bashing MS or MVPs. He just comes across as a
hypocritical insecure crabby old fart.

I am far from happy with MS at the moment and have given my opinions in the
feedback etc. and so have some MVPs shown their annoyance.
I am used to MS and far too old(and have been called an old fart, so watch
what you say ;-), to change now - I did try.
Where he popped up from all of a sudden, I don't know.
Cant say I have seen anything from him before - I'll have to search.
Howsomever, I am out of this thread now.
