Hi, I just got this computer from my mother along with
her Windows XP Home Edition. She has registered this
version already. She just purchased a new computer which
came with XP so I got this one. It says I have 30 days
to activate it. How can I do that since its been a
previously registered product? Please help~

"Registering" is NOT the same as "activation".

Go to Start-All Programs-Accessories-System Tools and click on "Activate
Windows". Make sure you have an internet connection before you do this. The
process should be automatic.

This puzzles me. If you received a computer from someone and it contains
the original Windows XP that was installed on it, then it shouldn't need
reregistering and shouldn't tell you to register, since it's already
registered. You're not giving the whole story here.

She has registered but not it would seem activated; unless the disk
has been formatted and the system reinstalled.

Either way, get on the internet, go to
Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Activate Windows

Take 'activate on the net now'. Do not bother with the registration
side, which is purely voluntary. It should go through in 20 or 30
seconds.
