registering Windows

Hi there,
i want to sell my PC on but have never done this before and want to know if
i can "unregister" from Windows XP so that whoever buys my PC can do so in
their own name.

Windows is tied to a machine, not a user. There is no need to "re-register,"
though you may want to wipe out any sensitive data.
