I recently bought a laptop to use for word processing and I registered
Microsoft Office and its various programs once already with the 25-digit code
included with the computer's manual and assorted papers. So far so good until
June 27th. The programs suddenly informs me my trial will end June 30th.
Microsoft Word is now locked and would not accent the activation code for
the full version, even when it's the correct code. I feel ripped off and
cheated.
Could someone help?

You probably did get ripped off. Many of the pre-installed Windows
boxes have *trial* versions of Office, Norton AntiVirus, and other
products. They expire after a month or two and then you have to
uninstall them (and then decide whether or not to buy the retail
version). All the trialware is how the jobber pads their package to
make it look like they are dumping tons of freebie software into the box
but it all expires because it is trialware. Talk to whomever sold you
the pre-built computer.

If you have the FULL version, you will need to uninstall the trial
version that was included in the pre-built computer and then install a
fresh copy of the full version.

As of late many OEM systems come with a 90 day Office trial. However, I
have yet to see having to enter any codes for those systems. From this
point you will need to purchase Office, install it and all of your old files
will be found and do well.
