regedit shutdown error

If my system has been running a few hours or more and I shut it down I
get an error message for about one second in the shutdown process. I
was finally able to copy it when notepad had something not saved at
shutdown.

"regedit.exe DLL Initialization Failed
The application failed to initialize because the window station is
shutting down."

I find no relevent entry in the event log.

When I go to system restore I find no restore points for most days, but
I do find a few, and restore is enabled.

If the registry is corrupt,or to restore it to default,go to search at
microsoft.
com,type:307545 Also,307654 Although the topic of the kb articles,it'll
still

Good questions, I had assumed regedit was running as part of the system
restore point setup. I do not normally start it manually, and if I did
I would shut it down.
I run Kaspersky AV Personal, and my definations are updated at least
daily [today]. and a complete scan once a week. It scanned today and
found no virus. I have just run Symantec's tool, according to its
directions, with no result. System restore is now disabled. Still get the
error message.
Thanks
