regedit.exe

Ok here is the skinny with my problem. I was told to go to start click-it
then gotorun and click-it, then i typed in regedit so i can open up a window
that has the HKEY FOLDERS. but the window will not stay open it keeps
closing. can somebody help with this. i need the window to stay open so i can
repair a folder.

It's most likely a worm or virus, or possibly spyware that's causing it.
