i have windows xp professional installed on my computer;
my kids have junk on my computer i don't need and
actually everything important to me is on disk; i would
like to start brand new because i am running out of
space. does anyone know how to start as if i was
installing a new operating system. do i uninstall my
virus program, then windows xp and then reinstall from
new? please help i don't want to try this is if means
more headaches.

Go in the BIOS of your PC and select the CD-Rom as the boot drive. Then
reboot with your Windows XP CD. The install process will begin, and it will
give you the option of deleting/create partitions. Delete the existing
paritions and recreate new ones and then proceed normally. The install
process will ask you to format the drives in either FAT or NTFS formats (I
personally recommand NTFS because of better security).

Hope this helps
