Reformat question

Hello all, and thanks in advance to whomever can help.

I need to reformat. All I have is windowsXP home upgrade and my copy of
windows98 SE full version.

Do I need to install SE first in order for XP to do its upgrade? I also
have a copy of SP2 that I've obtained thru Microsoft to do that upgrade.

No. At some point in the install process you will be asked to supply
proof of upgrade eligibility. Put in the 98 CD and take it out when
prompted!

You boot from the CD and do a clean install.
