When I installed XPpro (NTFS) on my PC, I kept WinME. I
mistakenly only gave XP 4gb, thinking XP would take up
that space but be able to use the leftover disk space. I
realized that Fat32 does not recognize NTFS, but that
didn't figure in to my scheme of things.

ME uses a little over 9GB. Is there any way to reinstall
from my OEM (purchased new) XPpro disc, and just re-
allocate more space-say 28GB for XPPro? If so, could I
use FAST for my documents & Outlook Express? I will
definitely copy my XPpro drivers for my printers &
scanners to CD (I have Norton AV on CD already).

If not, would I just have to back up my XP files (not
much) and the files I added to Win ME then re-install? I
may clean up ME more (give it less space), as I really
mainly want to keep my Outlook Express emails from that.

ANY help on this would be appreciated.

You can try an application like PartitionMagic to reallocate the
partitions..

Thanks, Jeff,

I was hoping I would not have to go with Partition magic.

If I saved the files I wanted (a few add-ons since the xp install), wouldn't
the CD allow me to re-install XPPro & allocate more disc space?

The setup utility won't let you Reallocate partitions...you can create a
larger one if there is unallocated space on the drive, but you can't "take"
some from the FAT32 partition and roll it into the NTFS partition without a
utility like PartitionMagic or something similar.

Probably not the answer you were looking for :(
