Refilling HP c6615d cartridge

Mike Graham

I refilled one of my two cartridges for my HP750, and it seemed to work
okay for a while, in fact quite a while, then it just stopped printing. The
printer never claimed to be low on ink. I can shake the cartridge and hear
ink sloshing around in there. Perhaps I didn't fill it properly. I know
that I put a LOT more ink into it then it claims to hold. Like, about 3
times as much.
Does anyone have a refilling routine for this cartridge that works well
for them?

If you used generic ink, it's probably clogged.
BTW, it will hold 42ml.

I had refilled it with a Ko-Rec-Type kit (I figured "hey, it's only
black..."). I needed it in a hurry, you see. Now I have received ink from
Atlantic Inkjet and I will use that in the future. So what I should do is
dump the rest of the ink in the cartridge down the drain, refill it with the
good black ink, then shake it to unclog it?

No you should shit-can the cartridge because it is contaminated with un-
suitable ink, and the residue from that un-suitable ink will contaminate
the ink you put in.

Bite the bullet and buy a new cart.

Get the fill kit from www.inkjetsaver.com and start filling through the
head. It includes solvent that you use to clean the inside of the cart and
head.

I don't think they ship to Canada. The ink that I have from Atlantic
Inkjet is supposed to be top-notch stuff. So I hear. I have two black
carts (and two colour carts) for the printer, and have only used the
Ko-Rec-Type ink in one of them, so hopefully I can get myself sorted out
with a good, doable system for the second one.
Once you open the cart by popping the fill hole, you introduce grit
and it will eventually have problems.

The instructions I got from Atlantic Inkjet for the 78 carts specifically
said to leave the holes open (!). Is this because the 78s have a foam pad
inside but the 6615d doesn't?
The 45 contains a plastic bladder, NO
DRILLING!

That applies to the 6615d as well?

I wonder if I can rinse it out with water... the ink seems to be
water-soluble. Could be worth a try... nothing to lose.
Actually, the real question is should be asking is about the fill-hole...
the fill-hole on that cartridge is on the bottom. That sucks. Any reason
why I can't drill a hole in the top to fill it through, so it will be more
like the 78 tri-colour?

The 15 and 45 are the same cart with a different chip. Both use a bladder.
Filling them through the head is the only way to go.

Is there a special device used to fill through the head?

They do ship international, just checked.

"Most International orders are shipped by the U.S. Postal Service. "
