Since I upgraded to SP2 when I use a link on a page in IE I get
The page cannot be displayed
I have tried all the settings explained on the page. I even tried
Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 urlmon.dll. Then go to:
IE/Tools/Internet Options/Programs/Reset Web Settings.
Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 actxprxy.dll and then repeat the
process for regsvr32 shdocvw.dll.

Check your settings here:

Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/File Types. Highlight URL:HyperText
Transfer Protocol/Advanced/Edit. Under Application used to perform action it
should read: "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome

From Kellys Korner as well as running other dll's suggested on Microsoft.
Still does not work. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Jeff

Jeff,
You can access webpages from a shortcut (favorite) or by typing in the URL,
but not from hyperlinks, right?

See if there's anything you haven't tried at these pages:
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/IEFAQ.htm Tips #21 & 46
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=281679
http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm
http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers2.htm#hyperlinks
http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers.htm#new_window

Less likely... but try disabling any other program that might be interfering
with IE. Look at privacy/security programs, ad-blockers, toolbars, etc.

You have gotten two different answers because your description
isn't clear. Meena is giving an answer to the problem that you
are having difficulty with a link to a *particular* site.
Don has given you repair procedures for the problem of no links
working or links to *any* sites working incompletely.

Another aspect of your symptom which has not yet been discussed
is whether you have any potentially interfering software or hardware
in the path. (E.g. something which might be targeting Referer:
headers and corrupting them or somehow preventing the whole
HTTP request from being passed on.) I think that depending on
the source of such interference Meena's suggestion might help
change that symptom too.

Try again? ;)

BTW did you try searching for that netsh.exe tool?
Perhaps your PATH environment variable is missing System32?
That's where netsh.exe is found in XP Pro. Perhaps in XP Home
it's one of tools you need to install the XP Support Tools to have. Etc.
A third-party alternative to the particular netsh command Meena
suggested is available for non-XP OS which presumably works
on XP too. Search others' posts for the string LSPFix.
