Hi all,
after installing windows xp service pack 2 Internet Explorer 6.0 closes down
frequently giving an error
"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are
sorry for the inconvenience"

app name: iexplore.exe
mod name: e2eapi.dll

I have tried various spyware and ad-aware and the system is clean.

Somebody has suggested to register following dll files

regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll (this command only for Win2000 and XP)
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll

I have registered them.

But still the problem persists. Has anybody got the solution ? Please kindly
reply.

Hi,
Google found nothing on e2eapi.dll. You might try to locate the file and
check properties to see which program it belongs to. I'd bet that it's
malware.

No one program can remove all malware. Start
by downloading and running CWShredder, Ad-aware and Spybot. Check for
updates before running Ad-aware or Spybot.

If unsuccessful with those programs, you may have to post a HijackThis log
for analysis. Start at

http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm Work through the preliminary cleaning
steps then post a HijackThis log to the forum at

Be patient. It's a busy forum.

HijackThis logs are also analyzed at these (and other) forums. Look for the
proper forum and an "Important- Read This First" message so that you follow
proper procedure.
