reduce space between print lines

I have a simple two column report listing with no grouping. I am trying to
reduce the space between the printed detail lines. I've done about all I can
with the detail line in design mode. If I reduce the width of the detail line
more, it cuts off the text. But when I print, the space could be reduced a
little more. Is there some setting I could change to reduce the amount of
space? My page setup is Number of Columns 2, Row spacing 0", Column spacing
..025", Column size width 3.75", height 1.7708". I've tried changing the
Column height to no avail. Now I know I can transfer this report to Word and
reduce the spacing between lines there, but I want to do it in Access. Any
help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tomc

I'm confused. Your "Subject" mentions space between lines, but you describe
the width of lines.

If you are in report design mode, in your Detail section, is there any space
above or below the control in which your data is displayed? Is the control
larger (i.e., taller) than it needs to be to hold the font?

The place to reduce space between detail lines is in the Detail section of
the report.

Jeff, Sorry for the confusion. Ignore my comment about width of lines - I
was just giving all the parameters and their values of the Page Setup. My
problem is the space between the printed lines - I am trying to reduce it.
No, there is no space either at the top or bottom of my field in report
design mode.
No, the field is no taller than it needs to be. When I try to reduce it,
the bottom of the text is cut off. I have it set at the minimum size.
I thought there may be another way of reducing the line spacing, but if the
detail line in design mode is the only place where I can reduct the line
spacing, then I don't guess I can do what I wanted to do. I thought there may
be some property value that I could change, but I guess not? Thanks for
replying. Tomc

In addition, I also tried in design mode, selecting the controls, and then
Format decrease verticle and that didn't seem to do anything either.

OK, no extra space in the details section. Are you using groups? Is there
extra space there?

If not, consider reinventing the wheel -- try creating the report from
scratch and see if you have the same issue...
