Reduce Size of PST File

Outlook 2003 SP2

My Outlook.pst file exceeds 2MB. I copied almost 1,000 emails to a folder
and deleted them from their folders in Outlook and from the Deleted Items
folder in Outlook. I thought the size of the pst file would be reduced but
it actually grew a little in size after I deleted the items.

I ran the Scanpst.exe but this only increased the size of the pst. Is there
a compact utility for pst files?

How can I reduce the size of my pst file?

If the size of the pst file cannot be reduced, then how can I start a new
pst file?

Thanks,
Wayne

certainly is. Open the pst file in Outlook, right-click on "Personal
Folders", choose "Properties" and go to "Advanced" and click on "Compact
Now".....

Thanks Gordon but the 'Compact Now' function did not reduce the size of my
Outlook.pst file. I checked to make sure the Advanced panel was pointed to
my Outlook.pst file.

Thanks again.
