Reduce file size of outgoing emails (MS Word 2000)

I want to reduce the size of outgoing emails that I have created using ms
word 2000. I've seen a solution for word 2002 but not for word 2000!? Can
anyone help please?
 
Use a zip utility to compress them, such as Winzip.
