redirected to about:blank

When clicking on a link that opens in a new window or a
link that downloads a file, the browser is redirected to
about:blank. 404 errors are also redirected to
about:blank.

I postged this note about "about:BLANK" last week:


Hi All, I have been infected with that freakin about:blank Spyware/malware
and was not able to resolve the problem with Adaware or Spybot. It was a
real pain. anyway, I tried Panda Titanium anti Virus 2004 software from
www.pandasoftware.com. It was free for a free trial use and it worked. It
removed the about:blank spyware from my system. No hassle either.

I use WIN 98SE with IE 6.0 and OE 6.0.
