Recyled bin not working properly

Deleted files are not showing up in the Recycled folder in Explorer. All
Recycled folders were deleted and system rebooted to reestablish them. Still
no go.

Looking at the contents of the Recycled folder (under command line), the
deleted files exist in the the form of Dh#.xxx where # is a sequential
number and xxx is the files normal extension. Opening a copy of the Info2
folder, there are references to the original names of the deleted files
(although no direct reference to Dh#.xxx).

Comparison of registry entries with information in kellys-korner-xp.com
"Restore the Recycle Bin" and "Nuke on Delete"are identical.

Nothing unusual under 645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E.

Operating system is WindowsXP Professional.

Help? Perhaps a corrupted dll. If so, which one(s)?

Thanks for any insight.

Hi Duncan,

Suggestions for you:

This seems to work for many: Make sure that something is in the Recycle Bin
(delete any file). With the Recycle Bin closed, right click and choose:
Empty Recycle Bin. When the confirm box appears, click ok. Reboot. Now the
Recycle Bin should work correctly.

Tried that early on without success, but tried again and it worked. Perhaps
the folder has to be cleaned out and reestablished first, then empty and
reboot second.

Thanks, Kelly.

Just to be sure - is this a FAT 32 drive? If it is an NTFS one, the
folders used are under Recycler, not Recycled
