i recently had a problem with norton liveupdate (error
LU1803) after following the instructions from symantec
to correct this i found that by deleting the files as
advised i ended up with these files being replicated by
recycler(whatever that is) and now these files cannot be
deleted as i get the message "unable to read from source
or disk"
does anyone have a solution?

RECYCLER is the standard Recycle Bin. Norton's software as far as I
recall comes with an enhanced Recycle Bin. I do not know, how to solve
the problem, but deinstalling and reinstalling Norton may help.

thanks, but uninstalling norton liveupdate was the
initial cause of my problem, i may have to pay for norton
tech support as the faq and knowledge base havent
revealed a solution. all the same, thanks for your time

You could reset the Recycle Bin. Start the Recovery Console and delete
all RECYCLER and RECYCLED folders on the HDD from here.
"How to Access the Recovery Console During Startup"
