I had Nortons SystemWorks 2003 installed on my XP system and it expired. I
uninstalled all of it, but then I noticed that each drive (I have 7)
contained a "RECYCLER" folder and also a Nprotect folder. These were
generated in the Norton Recycle Protection program. I have delected all
those programs and I went to the Symantec web site and used their instruction
to manually remove everything on the computer, including Register files,
Services, etc. There is nothing left.
However, each time I delete any file or folder from a drive, the Nprotect
folder and the RECYCLER folder are immediately created again. I can delete
them but they always come back and end up using a lot of space. There must
be some program left somewhere that creates these. I get no help from
Symantec. Is there a way to trace what program created the "Nprotect"
folder or the RECYCLER folder. IF I can find it I can delete it.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
