Recycle Bin window size/position

In the past, when I double clicked the Recycle Bin, it opened a window to
show the contents and always remembered the size, position, and that I had
selected List View. Now, for "no reason", it fails to remember any of its
settings. The box to remember window settings IS checked under Folder
Options.

Hi

Drag the Recycle Bin window to the size you want it, then use File>Close.

Tried that, also tried holding down the Shift key when clicking the X to
close. Both set it for the remainder of the session (as does simply closing
the window normally), but it resets the window size and resets View=List to
View-Icons after I reboot.

A minor irritant I can live with, but strange. Neither Norton nor Ad-Aware
find anything amiss.
