Recycle bin does not appear on desktop

I don't know how, when or why it dissapeared. I've
followed the suggestions given in the knowledge base but
none of those works out. Can someone please tell me how
to restore the recycle bin icon on xp pro, I need to free
up some disk space asap!

Control panel \tweakui will put an icon on the desktop. Or you can put
it there in a roundabout way by dragging onto the start button to put
an icon in the start menu, then dragging that icon from the start menu
onto the desktop.

The Recycle Bin can be emptied in windows explorer. Right-click the
icon, which should be at the bottom of the list.
