Recurring Appointments loose reminders when edited and synced.

I am using Outlook 2007 with Vista Business to sync with an iPAQ and a
Motorola Q PDA Phone. I create 3 different recurring events that occur
Monday through Saturday. The times that these events occur change on a daily
basis so I need to edit the daily occurance to a new time. This is a simple
drag and drop in Outlook. All is well in Outlook but when you sunc to a
Windows CE device any occurance that has been edited has the reminder set to
NONE. This is particularly anoying. I have been doing the editing on the
iPAQ so as not to loose the reminder but I have recently started using the
Motorola Q and need to sync to it as well. The Q always comes up with
Reminder NONE if I use a recurring appointment. So far the only thing I have
found that works is to create the 15 appointments all new every week. (I only
have to create the appointments on 5 out of 6 days, which also changes every
week.

If you are entering notes in the appointment body, separate appointments is
better than a bunch of recurrences with more exceptions than not - it's too
easy to lose the notes.

If you aren't already using Excel to create the 15 appointments, it can make
life easier.

Thanks for the tip on using Excel to enter the appointments. I had not
thought of that.

There are no notes for the appointments they are realy just reminders, the
iPAQ or Phone is set to beep 5 minutes before an action is to be taken.

The loss of the reminder durring sync is terrible. I am sure that there is
some sort of bug in the Active Sync logic that causes this to happen. There
is no reason that I know of that anyone would want to throw away the reminder
when changing the schedule of a recurring appointment. It is especially
important if you have changed a scheduled item from 11:00 to 10:30 that you
have the reminder move with it, not be deleted. The reminder does move in
outlook it just gets removed durring the sync.

If you suspect this, then it would be better to bring it up in
microsoft.public.pocketpc.activesync, but even that's not applicable since
Vista can't use ActiveSync. Perhaps microsoft.public.windows.vista.general
would be a better place.

appointments sounds interesting - how is it done.
