Recovery console is running after sp2 crash ,now how do i restore

i am at he dos prompt of the recovery console ,how do i restore to a previous date from here? Can it be done this way? If not ,where do i go from here?

Hi Gary,

System Restore can't be started from the prompt in Recovery Console. If you
can boot into Safe Mode with Command Prompt, follow the instructions here to
start the System Restore tool from a command prompt:
