recovering jpegs

i recently copied some pics(jpeg) using nero ultra 7 to a dvd and then
copied back to my laptop

i have windows xp home edition

some i could sucessfully open but others not

I have icons but no thumbnail pics and they do not open using either
nero photo viewer (error message about plug in loading has failed) or
microsoft digital image "this file can't be opened"

I see many requests for solutions on web but no definitive responses

are these recoverable?


Waiting 4 days now for response from nero vip support!
