recovering files from XP system disk

My old PC powersupply burnt up. The PC was running XP home edition. I
bought a new PC with XP home addition installed already. I took the system
disk from my old PC and installed in in my new PC. I can see all the files
on the old disk but the system will not let me copy my old documents,
photos, music, etc. from the old disk to my new disk. Any suggestions?

Right click the "old" files and take ownership....
maybe you should even consider doing this with the
whole "old" disk....
