A user deleted her public folder, with several items in it. She was using
Outlook 2003 (non-cached mode), with our Exchange 2003 SP2 server. The
server is set to retain deleted items for 7 days.
I had her highlight the top-level public folder (all public folders), and
choose "Recover Deleted Items." When she does this, she can see the deleted
folder, but when she tries to recover it, the process goes most of the way
through and then pops up an error stating "Outlook was unable to recover some
or all of the deleted items. Check permissions, etc." I verified that she
had owner permisions on the folder before she deleted it, and I, with Domain
Admin, Exchange Admin permissions tried as well but received the same error.
We are trying to recover the folder and all of the items in it. Do any of
you MVPs have any idea why this might be happening. Is there somewhere I can
look where I can manually extract the deleted folder?
