Is there a way to tell if a file has been compacted?

The wife had emails in the Deleted Items folder. Now they are no longer
there. I asked her if she compacted the personal folder (pst) she had no
idea. I have tried the "corrupt" the pst then run scanpst.exe to fix it. I
still do not recover any of the emails.
Does anyone know of another way?
Is there a way to tell if the pst had been compacted?

Compact does not remove mail from deleted, scanpst does not recover deleted
mail; all as previously stated in response to your earlier post
You have by your actions allmost certainly destroyed any hope of recovering
anything by using third party paid for tools.
And since you have no backups you dont have that option
Deleted folder is not the place to store mail other than junk due to be
perminently deleted
