"recover deleted items" missing

i have outlook 2003 on a win XP sp1.

the "recover deleted items" option is missing from the tools menu.

i have tried resetting the menu bar but to no avail.

i tried to customize the tools menu, but from the commands tab of the
customize dialog box, "recover deleted items" is missing.

i have tried reinstalling office 2003.

still not resolved.

You need to be attached to an Exchange server in order to have that
functionality.
 
You must be in the Deleted Items folder for the option to appear.
