recover data from partitions on second drive

Q

Quixote

I accidentally formatted my master drive C but I have
backups on second hard drive (slaved) partitioned into 3
drives (F,G,H). I reinstalled OS on my C with second
drive disconnected for fear of formatting it accidentally
again. Once installed, I reconnected the drive, installed
OK but can't see in My Computer.

All my backup files are on it. I can't recover it. Tried
Easy Recovery Pro 6 but detects only partition F. How can
I make Windows recognise my drive partitions correctly?
Gosh...I'm stressed! Help me out, please.

Could you describe "Installed OK" ? Does MMC see
the drive ? Does your IDE controllers have the channel
set to None ? You didn't provide enough information to
give you a definitive answer. When something like this
happens, it's best not to rush into any type of recovery
procedure. That can make a resolvable problem a lot
worse. Just a gentle reminder - Backups are only good
if they are stored off the computer on some type of
permanent media ( not magnetic, like disk drives, Zips)
You might want to get a disk management program, like
PQmagic, BootIt-Ng or others to determine the status
of your second disk.

go

START>CONTROL PANEL>ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS>COMPUTER MANAGMENT>STORAGE>DISK
MANAGMENT
and assign a letter to your drive.

Hello,

DataRecoveryWizard utility can help. Speaking about me, it was
easily able to restore lost data, so I think you will
also find it quite useful. Really recommended tool, give it a try.
