Recognized but not assigned Flash drive?

I am having trouble with a USB flash drive/thumb drive. Seems to be a
recurring theme, but I found no other posts exactly like my problem.

When it is inserted, it seems to be recognized and says it is ready for use.
It even appears in the device manager and claims it is operating correctly.

When I try to access it, it doesn’t appear to have been assigned a drive
letter and does not show up as a removable drive in Explorer or My Computer.

The drive does work correctly in other computers running XP Pro.

There are three computers all with the same hardware configurations that
this is a problem on if that helps any.

Thank You in advance.

Thank you very much, that worked great.

Will that be recognized as that drive letter from now on, or is there a way
to do that?

The assigned drive letter should remain the same just for
this particular computer. Its Windows Registry would have
enumerated this specific flash drive if it has an unique
identifier.

Yes, unless you change it.
