I have a Gateway 9300 max'd out.., ahhh, (at least for the year and
model), on which I was running Win 98se.
When I installed XP Pro over the Win 98se it asked me if I wanted to save
the old system "just in case", which I did by allowing XP to dutifully stuck
Win 98se in a partician of C: drive.., where it's stayed just taking up
space.
XP Pro installed itself in E: drive, and used D: drive for the DVD/CD
R/W. Now, I've since removed the "guts" from C: drive and run everything
all the time with XP.
Is there anyway to clear the space used by this C: drive bring it into
the E: drive without losing all my applications and data on the machine?
Or can I just transfer or burn all my applications and data to a CD using
my DVD/CD R/W..? In short, how to reclaim that non-used space on C:
drive..?? Thanks..!!

You will need to backup your files and perform
a "Clean Install" of Windows XP. Afterward, you'll
have to reinstall your programs using their original
installation media.
