Recent problem in an Internet sharing under XP

Hello everyone,

First, excuse my poor English as I'm French. Nobody is perfect :).

Second my problem :
I have a little home network between a host and a client , with a RJ 45
wire, in order to share my Internet connection. Everything has been
marvelous for 6 months but yesterday a problem began.

Here's my config :
Host :
1 Local network connection to Internet (because I have a static IP with my
provider), shared, functional.
1 Local network connection via Ethernet : IP address is 192.168.0.1, mask is
255.255.255.0, the rest is blank.

Client :
1 Local network connection via Ethernet : IP address is 192.168.0.2, mask is
255.255.255.0, 3rd line (gateway in English ?) is 192.168.0.1, first DNS is
192.168.0.1

With or without a firewall, it is the same.
Now, this is what I've got as symptoms. When I turn on the client, I can
connect to the Internet but very slow and after about 30 seconds, IE refuses
to give me any page. Firefox has exactly the same problem. BUT when I make a
traceroute from the client to any website, it works and even after these 30
seconds ! And both computers can ping each other with no problem...

So I really don't understand where it comes from...

Thanks for the help !

JPC,

Votre anglais bat hella mon français! ;-)

Is this for all websites? Can you access the same pages successfully from the
host (is it an ICS host?)?

Check your MTU settings.
