Receiving double of all emails

Outlook 2007
I just installed 2007 on a 2nd computer. All email is coming in as
duplicates (not just some email). I know this problem is frequently caused
by rules. I deleted them all and they still come in duplicate.

Suggestions?

That did not help. (I even changed it to AVG which works fine on my other
computer but no luck).

AVG installs an email scanner by default unless you disable that installation.
Did you?

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. Neither "Scan incoming messages"
nor "Scan outgoing messages" are checked, however it does say "email scanner
is active". Does "active" mean that it is following instructions (do
nothing), or that it is actually scanning in spite of it's setting?
