receive e-mail

Recently I added a 2nd acct to windows mail. Since then, I can't receive
e-mail from either acct. The main acct worked just fine until I added the
2nd acct. I want to add 4 acct's but can't get the first 2 to work. I have
tried everything that I can think of. I deleted the acct and re-added it. I
have tried to log on with the first part of my e-mail and with the full
e-mail address and it doesn't work. When I click send/receive it asks for my
user name and password. I enter it in and that same box shows up again
asking for my user name and password. I can send e-mails just fine but can't
receive. HELP! I never had this much trouble with AOL mail. Maybe this is
just new to me and I haven't figured it out yet.

Which antivirus are you running?
This problem can be caused by an incompatible antivirus program.
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee and Norton
security programs. Those will need to be uninstalled, NOT just disabled.
I suggest that you do a temporary uninstall of your antivirus.
You can always reinstall it if there is no improvement.

If there is improvement, download and install a more
compatible antivirus like:

AVG free edition:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff
or
Avast free edition:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

With either of those, during the install phase you must select custom
install, and then deselect the email scanning option.

"pop3" is not a valid mail server name.
Your mail provider will have a page of setup instructions on their website.
If you need help with that, let us know who your mail provider is.

Have you tried making sure there are no CAPITAL LETTERS in your
username when you enter it? Some email providers insist on this. Are
you sure you used CAPITAL and lowercase letters in your password
where expected? Some email providers check this.

Does the second account use port 25? Connections to port 25 that
cross from one internet provider's equipment to another's are often
blocked to cause trouble for spammers.
