Does Windows 2000 require a periodical reboot. If so how
often? Can anyone point me to some documentation on the
subject?

Rob

No. Only if you installed programs or patches/fixes that require
reboot. Or if you feel like rebooting it for some reason or other, like
after cleanups. Other than that it can run without reboots.

i would recommend rebooting at least once a day, but its
your call!

No, why should it need "periodic" reboots. If somesone is claiming that
it is required, I would wonder what bug is present in their software
that they don't want to fix.

I reboot only when an install or uninstall requires it, or when I suspect
that my cable modem has become confused. (Rebooting seems to be the only
way to clear its mind when that happens.) The system I use at work is
more stable (no cable connection, no teenage users), and is powered down
only for hardware maintenance. It was last rebooted on November 10.
