Rebooting and shutting down XP

Has anyone noticed that after the service pack install
when they reboot their PC or shut it down it takes about 4-
5 minutes? The PC logs off within 30-40 seconds, but to
power off or power off and restart takes about 4-5
minutes. Is there a fix for this?
