Reboot using Remote Desktop?

Paul

How can you reboot the remote machine connected to when
using remote desktop with XP? The only options I see are
to Logoff and Disconnect, neither option leaves the
connection. Can I get to a dialog box somewhere to
perform a restart? Can CTRL-ALT-DEL command be sent
similar to using NetMeeting, VNC, etc.? Any help would
be greatly appreciated.....

Thanks, Paul

Start, run, taskmgr

I assume that you can reboot through that.

That will work. Once the task manager is open go
to "Shutdown", at the top of the task manager window, and
select the option you want. Alternatively you can use the
<Ctrl><Alt><End> key sequence, while in the RD session to
bring up the remote PCs task manager, or use either
the 'shutdown' or 'tsshutdn' commands from the "Start ->
Run" command window. Open "Help and Support" and search
on either command for the correct syntax.

the best way to go about rebooting a terminal server would
be to use the TSSUTDN command with the reboot switch ie

tsshutdn /server:computername /reboot /delay:5 10

this command will reboot the machine quickly and
effectivley.
