Rearrange columns

Dave

When I try to rearrange columns in my "Inbox" view, they won't budge, even
though I show the order I want at: (rt-clk on Inbox header), then Customize
Current View/Fields.

What I'm trying to do is move the flag status column over to the right. But
it doesn't seem to matter what I put in the above box, the columns stay in
default order.

The positioning is hard coded into outlook unless you remove the icon altogether and then add it back and position it where you choose.

Thanks very much, Millie.

Makes me wonder, though, why they bother having that "customize current
view" tool and invite you to rearrange columns?? Nothing there is said about
deleting and adding things back in to make it work.

Just tried doing this, Millie, and it did allow me to add it back in at
another position, but now the column header will only appear as text, where
before I could choose "Format Columns" to have it be a flag or text. Groan.

So sorry, Milly. I need to be more careful before posting. I had replace
the "flag status" with "followup" (which is a text only field).

SO - I got my flag back, the only thing missing now, is when that column
was at its default far right location, I could just click in it and a flag
(color of choice) would appear. Now that doesn't work, I have right click,
select a flag, yada, yada. What setting am I missing to make the flag appear
just by clicking in the column next to the message? (I did look up Help this
time!)
