I want to rearrange the folders in the folder view in Outlook.

I'm using Outlook 2002. I want to rearrange the folders in the folder view
of Outlook. I've tried clicking and dragging but this doesn't seem to work.
After messing about with vreating archive files to reduce the size of the
main .pst file which was clearly too large, the ordering of the files changed
and now my main inbox and calendar and stuff appears down at the bottom of
the folder view, which is why I now want to rearrange the ordering somewhat.

Thanks for any help.

Your main mailbox should be at the top. The rest of the sorting is taken
care of by the alphabet.
If it's not sorting correctly for you see if recreating your mailprofile
solves it for you.

Create a new profile (do not copy it);
Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles

To access your current pst-file in the new profile;
File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...

To set it as the default delivery location;
Tools-> E-mail Accounts...-> button Next-> use the dropdownlist below

Hi Thanks for your comments. I now seem to have fixed the problem, though I
wimped out at the last minute of doing it with a new profile (I was a bit
worried that all my current emails stored on the server would get downloaded
to a local file and wiped off the server). It seems that even in the folder
view all of the folders are arranged by name alphabetically, even the "main"
folder. In the past this worked fine because my main one was called "Outlook
...." and my locally stored stuff was called "Personal ...", so it worked.
After messing the stuff around I had 2 locally stored folders called "Archive
...." and my main Mailbox was called "Mailbox ..." or something. I've now
worked out (by chance, I was trying to set up a new profile according to your
instructions) how to change the names of the "data files" as Outlook calls
the main folders (tools -> options -> mail setup -> data files), so I've
renamed them back to more closely what they were and now it all works fine
again.

Cheers :)
