Really necessary Windows Components

Richard

I messed onetime with Windows Components in Add/Remove Programmes. I've got
too little RAM memory and I want to make sure I'm not running uneccessary
services/components. I'm not sure what the default position was with Windows
Components. Here is the list:

* Accessories and Utilities
* Fax Services
* Indexing Services
* Internet Explorer
* Internet Information Exchange
* Managing and Monitoring Tools
Message Queing
* MSN Explorer
* Network Services
Other Network File & Print Services
* Outlook Express
* Update Root Certificates
* Windows Media Player
Windows Messenger

Okay, the ones preceded by "*" are checked, meaning I reckon these
components are installed.

Can I uncheck the following?:

Fax Services
Indexing Services
Internet Information Exchange
Managing and Monitoring Tools
MSN Explorer
Network Services
Update Root Certificates

(I do wonder, but not sure, if I need the last 4:
Managing and Monitoring Tools
MSN Explorer
Network Services
Update Root Certificates)

TIA.

You can probably remove all but one of these components. The only unknown would be the Network Services. I would leave this one alone.
